Something similar happened to my aunt, who was also my best friend. Children taken away, given to an abusive father, then being kept away from her. She died at 40 from what they say was an "overdose" the day after her daughter's 16th birthday (who she couldn't even see and hadn't seen in years). Then 6 years later my cousin, her daughter passes away (and always had a broken heart from her mother's passing). Father's family was connected with even the county being his last name. His lawyer later became a DA and she was put through the ringer by everyone, the courts, the PD, constantly harassed by both. It was several years of hell for her not to see her children, whom she 100% supported with every fiber of her body, including family who threw her under the bus. It slowly killed her... but who knows what happened because pain and heartache can slowly kill you too. I miss her dearly...

Family court systems are deeply flawed and failing- my granddaughter was being abused by my daughter’s ex , it was documented as ‘inconclusive’ due to reporting beginning at 4 y o for sexual abuse- gut wrenching! This continued until she was ten with our hands tied, thousands of dollars in court, attorneys fees. No support other than continued abuse we knew was happening but couldn’t stop! That was excruciating! Now she is 14, has self defense classes and language skills for her own health the ex has dropped out of the picture thankfully. No parent or family, most of all kids should be subject to this pedo perverse abuse! This can deeply shatter warp and stunt adults who have had this in their lives!

I have witnessed a father go through this also- it is no less tragic and horrifying- watching your kids be alienated in a short time- in this case the kids came back to the dad after turning 18 - with damage from the mom for sure but this was as good of an ending as possible.

Family court systems are deeply flawed and failing- my granddaughter was being abused by my daughter’s ex , it was documented as ‘inconclusive’ due to reporting beginning at 4 y o for sexual abuse- gut wrenching! This continued until she was ten with our hands tied, thousands of dollars in court, attorneys fees. No support other than continued abuse we knew was happening but couldn’t stop! That was excruciating! Now she is 14, has self defense classes and language skills for her own health the ex has dropped out of the picture thankfully. No parent or family, most of all kids should be subject to this pedo perverse abuse! This can deeply shatter warp and stunt adults who have had this in their lives!

I have witnessed a father go through this also- it is no less tragic and horrifying- watching your kids be alienated in a short time- in this case the kids came back to the dad after turning 18 - with damage from the mom for sure but this was as good of an ending as possible.
