Our February Sisters in Solidarity forum this Saturday is now open to any mother who is interested in finding out more about our Discrimination against Women in Family Court lawsuit, our Sisters activism group, or our Women’s Revolution in general.
Normally our monthly forums are open only to members of Sisters in Solidarity, the activism arm of The Women’s Coalition. In last Sunday’s newsletter, it was announced that any mother who’d signed up for the lawsuit could join.
Now, since there has been so much interest in the new lawsuit and our newly-launched Women’s Revolution, all mamas who’ve been victimized in Family Court and want to join the revolution are now invited to attend the forum, even if you have not signed up for the lawsuit. As is usual, there will be a brief talk, a Q &A, and an open discussion. [See below.]
It was also announced in last Sunday’s column that we now have a New York attorney who will be the first to file! There have been a lot of NY moms who’ve expressed interest since then and all NY mamas are encouraged to join the forum.
We have possibilities from other states and the UK as well. Keep on looking for attorneys in your state/country!
If you would like to join the lawsuit fill out this form for the U.S. and for other countries this form.
We will keep everyone updated in our newsletter, so make sure and subscribe if you haven’t.
If you are planning to join the forum (see below), please read our column about the lawsuit if you have not already. It contains all the basics.
Briefly, the complaint is based on the fact that women’s state and federal rights to equal protection and due process are being violated. We are requesting declaratory relief confirming the systemic discrimination against women in family courts. We are also requesting injunctive relief for active cases. Even if your custody case is closed or from a very long time ago, you can still join.
This is the first major step in ending the discrimination. The next is to take lawsuits to legislators and demand a new system in which judges do not have the power to decide custody. More about that in our Substack Subsections and on our Website.
A gofundme has been started that will be used to help pay attorneys. Please consider donating.
